It'll fall apart when it gets sussed too because they don't have the squad. Which will happen soon.
In fact, if Arsenal beat them in the FA Cup and expose them, I'm sure it'll get brushed under the rug. But that could be the game when it happens
I wish I could share your optimism mate but 2 simple reasons why we won't beat them.
First being we are shot at exactly the wrong time. Giroud is absolutely knackered. Without Walcott or Ramsey no one bothers their a**e to make the runs in behind him so he is working by himself most games. Giroud is not that good to do that all season, yet Arsene Wenger stubbornly refuses to ply Podolski with him. I'm convince Podolski's been sh*gging Wenger's daughter behind his back because the way he treats him is ridiculous.
The other reason being that he is going to pick our second string in the only competition we have a chance of winning because he is resting our first team for a game that every man and his know nothing about football wife knows we are going to get well and truly an*lly reamed in on Wed night.
Your red neighbours will beat our second string and the season will be done.
Neil 999, it took me a while to stop laughing before I could type. You actually put wenger and work out tactically in the same sentence.
couldnt believe podolski didnt come on last night mate
Your genius Rodgers had Gerrard giving five yard square passes last season and Joe Allen as the pivot around which the whole team operated. Suarez's goals last season saved him his job. He was THAT bad. Now we're supposed to believe he's sat down and worked out a counter attacking game? He's basically done what I said he did: gone for broke in a go for broke season for him and adopted a belief that bypassing the midfield altogether for punts to two quality finishers will produce the results. So far it's been a roll of the dice that's worked. But that's not the same as figuring out his squad. He's just capitulated any principle of a possession/passing game. In any case, I still dont see the urgency in crowning Rodgers and Liverpool's 'accomplishment' here. They would barely warrant a comment right now if United under Moyes hadn't been such a spectacular failure. It's taken the biggest implosion in English football for decades to even give Liverpool a sniff of a CL berth. As for me covering my arse on their league position: they remain three points from being out of the CL places at the zenith of their purple patch. I really dont think warrants much 'arse covering' just yet, do you?
"Brendan" ???- you give yourself away their lad. Tell me, what do you think of Luis, Stevie.......
Brendan is a lucky manager, i can't see why people don't see that.
He was a championship manager going from club to club, Reading Watford and then Swansea. Hell the year before he went up with Swansea he was the manager of reading and played them in the Playoffs! He wasn't some innotive coach, he was simply a young coach who wasn't good enough.
Then he got the swansea job ,with tactics and ethos already in place plus a good team built over 3 seasons. He carried on what Mcdermott, Martinez and Sousa had done before him and got them up. Remember Brian McDermott almost took them up the year before playing the same type of football. Reading were not long relegated from the premier league so still had financial muscle in the championship in reagrds to parachute payments so wtill a decent team.
So he gets them promoted, and his big job comes along on the back of what he was doing at Swansea. His team have now adapted and are pushing for the league at the most perfect oppertunity, fair enough. Except the amount of money he has spent on players not even at the club or not in the team is incredible. The board signed Sturridge and Counthino because Brendan clearly couldnt sign a decent player and fast forward to the following summer he repeats that feat by signing one decent player (sahko) and the rest crap again. He already had suarez there, as well as henderson and sterling who are first choice now.
My point is Rodgers is not an example of a good manager, it could well have been McDermott being praised for his management style and Kopite manager. He has been fortunate to be where he is. However if he builds on what he has and wins trophies and even the league then yes that will make him a good manager. Before that though he has been handed everything to him by everyone else and he has just had to sit there and smile.
Hope sunderland get knocked out purely for that disgraceful turnout. Saints managed to take 1800 but thats not bad considering the distance and the weather. Their coaches left at 430am.
