poyet's first decision as sunderland manager: bring bardsley back out of the wilderness

GOAL- Swansea 1-0 Sunderland - Phil Bardsley OG (57 mins)
lol

mourinho brought off eto'o for azpala...can't be bothered at home to cardiff 2-1 up after 69 mins!

went a bit better than moyes' boringness

do we actually have a better squad than man united then?

I know they're world class players like vidic, rooney and van persie are better than anything we've got; but even dour moyes wasn't stringing together bad results and performances like this in the last couple of years here.

we have some gash like osman and heitinga, but they're only really fringe players, we don't have an abundance of them them like cleverley, welbeck, evans, anderson, nani, young etc. who are all fairly permanant fixtures for united atm.

Manchester United manager David Moyes: "We had the opportunities to go 2-0 up. They had been knocking on the door but I thought we would see it out.

"But if you don't defend a corner well enough, there's always a chance they will score. We had a couple of good chances where we could have finished them off and if we had scored a second it would've put the game to bed, but 1-0 is always a dangerous scoreline."

Tough away game at Bayern? Tricky home tie against Arsenal?

Nope, worried about defending his 1-0 at home to Southampton.

Had he gone there on good terms I'd have wished him the best. As it is, I cheer every time he fails to win.

Haha. I'd agree we have a better midfield and defense (currently), but their overall squad has far more depth than ours. If they played two strikers, it would be Rooney and Van Persie. If we played two, it would be Lukaku (excellent) and Kone (dire)

we play 1 up top so only have 3 strikers though, they play 2 so require more back-ups. we do have a great squad and there are plenty of united players in their best 18 that wouldn't get on our bench.

when do i start referring to soton as a european contender along with us this season then? newcastle had a worldie one-off season, so it can still happen in this league.

they have some really good players soton and have bought well with a lot of money and seem to have a good coach, they've also had quite a few tough fixtures as well

get ready for the pic of the day
