Wonder how McCarthy will respond tonight against Austria. He didn't do well against Sweden on Friday but then again no one else did.
However, a panel on Irish TV tore into him at half time, saying he wasn't doing anything. Fair enough but the distinctly sub par Glen Whelan had his usual shocker, was even worse, and he never ever gets singled-out for criticism.
Whatever your views on his ability, there's way too much expectation on the lad, international wise, already.
