Back about a decade we were built entirely around Leighton Baines and it worked, so based on that anecdotal evidence - yes.

Hard disagree. I'm discussing who you build your team around not necessarily who the teams best player is.

Rodri isn't City's best player but they're a mess when he doesn't play. Same for Busquets. Same when Casemiro was at Madrid.

True. Might not necessarily be the best player but possibly the most important.

I remember the Galacticos era basically ended when Chelsea took Makelele off Madrid.

Frank Rijkaard's Barcelona looked to be going nowhere till they signed Edgar Davids on loan.

Used to go watching Salford back in the National Leagues. Was absolutely brilliant tbh.

Players would have random chats with old boys in the crowd, absolutely great atmosphere.

Can't be arsed now though. Though if this carries on I might give it another crack...
