...Stubbs not quoted in the betting for the Ireland job, Moyes is 50-1 with Paddy Power.

Stephen Kenny 2-1fav
Mick McCarthy 5/2
Sven Goran Eriksen 20-1
Steve Bruce 22-1
Sam Allardyce 25-1 (blue on Oddschecker suggesting he’s getting backed).
Brian Kerr 33-1
Steve McClaren 33-1
Gary Monk 33-1
Chris Hughton 33-1
Harry Redknapp 40-1
David Moyes 50-1

....lots more quoted suggesting the bookies have no idea.

Stephen Kenny gave Derry City the best years we've had in recent time - would love for him to get the post.

My point related to the FAI. They want results and wont care how. The fans will tolerate it as long as the results come, by and large.

You keep getting this wrong. Maybe you should have a think about the flow of the exchange?

Someone like Houlahan should have been in any Irish team. He has/had half a clue about opening up a defence. The fact he has been on the periphery by and large speaks volumes. And the ructions over McCarthy and his value also underlined how dire the understanding was about what a defensive midfielder/circulator was there to do.

Ireland need a methodology and the fans there need a football re-education...in the same we did after the likes of Moyes had us going route one for a generation.

I’d disagree on one thing the FAI, just want the junket gravy train to keep going and keep the cartel on the road. The international football team is the best of it believe it or not.

They have destroyed youth football in the country and league if Ireland.

There are clubs close to the wall, that owe less then some in the FAI get paid.

Youth football competitions played by annually.

No national academy in the country, in this day and age, scandalous.

The international football team is the least concern for football in Ireland.

No you are getting this wrong by suggesting Mike Allardyce Bassett as Ireland manager. Absolutely no chance.

The current Belgium manager might be looking for a job soon, so maybe he would do.

Why would the FIFA top ten ranked manager take up a job that's got Steve Bruce and some feller called Stephen Kenny as favourites for it?

It makes no sense.

Feck off the lot of you king Kenny's going nowhere actually the job wouldn't suit his style and his face wouldn't fit with Delaneys corrupt crew. This is the first season he will have retained his squad and will be backed I don't see him walking away from his project.
It'll be good but to see some of the players rewarded for their effort with presumably a call up to training squad even if just for Fai pr under the new management. O'Neill was praising them for their European performances then stating they had less experience then league 2 bench warmers.
He'd long lost grassroot support with his stubborn adherence to the 'magic plane' phenomena.

Some nonsense in the last couple pages. It's been an absolute chore watching Ireland since Kerr left. Awful football.

I personally would prefer we at least try to play some football and cement a certain way of playing rather than continue with the % football in the hope we might qualify for every 3rd or 4th tournament only to get beaten anyway. I think everybody I know, who actually still cares at this point, feels the same.

So most of the names being mentioned can feck right off.

Give it to somebody younger who would be delighted to have the position and will have the stones to let whatever technical players we can find express themselves.

No idea who mind.

...but I only put the betting odds up.
