Is it me or have they started fouling the moment they lose the ball, in order to stop teams breaking on them? They did it loads against West Ham, and the bit I saw today (missed most of it, thankfully) they did it at least two or three times.

Barca especially and Real Madrid have been doing that for years and got away with it

It was certainly a foul on salah but his touch was so appalling that there certainly was no goalscoring opportunity. The ball was well gone. Not sure how that's a red. Same as Jagielka last week. Last man isn't in the rule book. Clear goalscoring opportunity is. A ball in the hands of a goalkeeper is a strange interpretation of a goalscoring opportunity.

I agree that the touch was awful, but it can be argued that the contact forced him to take it. He was the last man, so it’s an obvious red. For the record, I think Oliver should have just let it go because of Salah’s embarrassing reaction to a very tame challenge.

Even the sending off he was so far behind play they pinched five yards on the free kick .....
He gave palace nothing, that lot everything......
No wonder FIFA never chose a Prem ref for the World Cup.......

But the bad touch came before the foul. You can't claim you took a bad touch because you were going to be fouled 2 seconds later. Foul and a yellow card all day long.

The top teams deliberately messed VAR up last season ....
Yet in the World Cup it was a big success?.....
That lot will get decisions like that all season ......
