Honestly if I lived in the City, and didn't go to away games, I'd nip over the river to Prenton Park when Everton weren't at home

Tranmere used to play on a Friday night at Prenton Pk and got loads of people nipping over to watch them and have a bevvy 'over the water'. Good financial move really avoiding the Saturday pull of ours or the RS home games.

I used to go on Friday night when I was at school in the 60s, and was there when they got promoted to division 3 in 1967.
When I was a kid I used to go to Rovers on a Friday and Goodison on a Saturday, don't think kids could afford to do that nowadays.

It’s funny, I used to go with my dad a lot in the late 80s, early 90s, when they played on a Friday night.

There’s a perception that Rovers fans are all Kopites, but when I went, used to meet far more people who either supported Everton and went to Tranmere as a secondary or vice versa. Hardly any were Liverpool supporters. Maybe it’s changed in more recent years.

Are Bayern playing the kids against Stuttgart or something?

no, a full strength team really, apart from injuries. They have the DFB Pokal final next week, so I guess they wanted to keep players sharp, and really, Bayern are about the only German club who don't really give youth a chance these days! So nice that backfired on them, maybe they where just dreaming of their celebration beers all game :pint2:

Looks like they got counterattacked into the ground.

Is that Stuttgart in Europe next season? That’s a major achievement for them.

yes, so long Bayern win the cup, which of course, they should do. I think Stuttgart go into Europa league qualifying round. Very cool, they are a massive club, so good for them to have such a great return to the Bundesliga.
