You're probably right. Fabregas, Hazard and Costa have been particularly awful.

There's only so much you can do as a manager when the players down to tools.

Exactly mate. There is only so much a manager can do, the rest is up to the players. Who else could control Costa's ego?

Probably, just by not being Mourinho. Those players aren't playing for him, look at Hazard pretending to be injured after a dive just to get away from him

Haha doubt he pretended to be injured mate. Think its just that there is so much frustration around them all at the minute. If they can string 2-3 wins together in the league, I could see them going on a run. Reckon he'll strengthen in Jan and they have to. Azpilicueta and Ivanovic are woeful.

Yes. For a start a different manager would probably not be actively looking to wreck the team that employs him.

Maybe. But he can get it back. Needs to just get rid of the dead rubber (Ivanovic, Azpilicueta, Fabregas, Costa etc).

So awesome to see a fresh face at the top of the table 1/3 of the way through the season. If only it was Everton.... The thing is, I don't think we are far off from what they are doing right now.

Don't do this to yourself mate...the hope will kill you. Everton are too mentally fragile to compete at the very top, they get stage fright. If we can get Europa, we should all be made up. That would be a massive achievement.

Firstly, look at the players he has got rid of - Lukaku, Mata, Salah, Schurrle, De Bruyne etc. Before he went there they had assembled - with Hazard, Courtois, Zouma and others - the most talented group of young players in Europe, with a plan of not having to continually dip into Abramovic's pockets, not falling foul of FFP (before City and PSG wrecked it), and having a fantastic team for years and years. It was a brilliant plan, only falling apart when they got Mourinho in and he jibbed most of them off in order to sign older, less talented players for more money.

Secondly, look at the fights he has picked all season - not only Carneiro/Fern, but subbing Terry, keeping Ivanovic there even though people were ragging him every single match, continuing the row with Wenger. If he was winning every week you could understand it, but he isn't.

Nearly halfway through the season and Leicester are deservedly top.

Couple of ready made replacements for Vardy and Mahrez could see them staying in the top 2 till the champions league distractions in February,then from there on in,they'll have longer recovery periods than Arsenal or City, it'll be up for grabs
. Defensively they are better than a Kompany-less city. Going forward, they're a match for Arsenal.

Nice to see Ranieri get the win over the Knob that once called him a loser. God I wish he'd take Chelsea down,would be so sweet.

Well, there's a stat that's been thrown about saying that since 92 clubs that have been at the top of the premiership at this time of the year have never finished lower than 4th.

So....

We need to be at the top of our game Saturday.

to be honest I'm not writing them off having that sort of season. If they drop then they drop but they don't look like they will do at the minute.

and if they can have a top 4 season then ranierri will have gone a long way to probe himself as a very good manager
