....I know others don't share my view but I think the addition of Wilshire to the current group will be a boost.
He couldn't exactly drop all the senior players for it! Look at the squad now, 12 months on? how many youth players are in the squad now? How many times is he swapping a first team player out for an experienced one? How many young players have been handed their international debuts? Hell looking at the first 11 that have played for the team so far
Butland
Shaw/Stones/Smalling/Clyne
Sterling/ Alli / Barkely / Oxlade Chamberlain
Kane / Welbeck
How old is the oldest player there? 24? they have all been capped and could potentially be a team. And they are just off the top of my head, there is plenty more behind them as well.
NExt year some may not make it no, but they are getting the experience now rather than calling on them in a year or two, think thats the long term plan. Say the world cup in 18, the likes of barkley/ alli/ sterling/kane/stones could all be key players by then, but giving them game time now allows them to adjust to the step up. It works both ways as well, for example Townsend, you can see way in advance if a player is cut out for it both club and country.Yeh he's capping them but how many of those are going to be in the starting XI come next June is my point. Major tournaments he peps out.
Considering that the likes of Gerrard and Lampard's course hadn't yeided any fruits before it had run, It wouldn't have even been particularly risky or brave to go with the younger players.....pity Hodgson wasn't enlightened enough to go with youth in the World Cup rather than persisting with the likes of Gerrard and Lampard who had run their course. Managers have to brave and let emerging talent through.
Links very well with Barkley but wasn't a fan of Jack in the defensive midfielder postion for England as not only is his tackling a touch erratic but his ankles are made of glass.....I know others don't share my view but I think the addition of Wilshire to the current group will be a boost.

We're definatley lacking in the getting bundled over like a girl and screaming for a foul department.....I know others don't share my view but I think the addition of Wilshire to the current group will be a boost.
Paraguay got a much needed win against Bolivia. After a mundane first half and a near Slippy-G situation put them behind 0-1, they responded with quite possibly the ugliest goal in history - it looked like a cross between a women's volleyball match and a drunken re-enactment of the water ballet scene of Caddyshack (perhaps I am overselling) - and a beauty of a cross.
Is Stroessner still alive ?
Knowing superficially little about S.America, it seems a very S.American thing to do.Died almost a decade ago... though one of his statues lives on, only repurposed to show him being crushed by the will of the Paraguayan peoples.
