Penalty shouldn't have been given if for no other reason than the Tottenham player on the ball completely stops and looks away to scream at the ref while the ball is still in play. Can't stand that [Poor language removed]. Players shouldn't be rewarded for giving up on a play to whine to the referee.

Regardless, that play proved the harshness of the penalty kick for a handball rule. Was the act of the player's arm coming up and touching the ball so unfair that it should be penalized with an almost-certain goal? Wish there was more of a middle ground for these.

Even our most deluded of fans would struggle to justify that as a penalty. Of course I'd take it any day of the week though!

rose is terrible, he did it 3 times in that match and got lucky it paid off. Had he ran towards the ball whilst still appealing, the decision wouldn't have been given. Play to the whistle, there's no point in teaching it to kids these days, it's better to teach them "stop and harrass and hound the ref until the eventually bottle it".

this is true though. although it could be argued refs would change their mind more often after they've come "out of the moment" where they have players screaming at them.

I know, it's laughable. I genuinely believe it is due to some ritual the occult over the park have undertaken. They get all the luck... we get none!

I was a little bit disappointed that we got a penalty yesterday in a needless fixture, as that's our quota used for a while now.
