smalling knew what he was doing as well. players constantly do it to try and halt attacks, he had a good 3/4 seconds to move. hence why he didn't complain at the yellow. it was cynical, he knows the rules.

Smalling moved from side to side in front of Hart and then stuck his leg out. You can't do that, it's a foul and a yellow card.

Yesterday, Balotelli stood in front of Krul, then turned his back on him and walked up the pitch. The ball then hit him when Krul cleared it. No foul was given which was correct.

You can stand in front of the keeper, you can move up and down the pitch in front of him but you cannot move sideways to block him when he goes to kick it.

And for whoever it was, deliberate handball is not a yellow card offense in itself. It depends on the circumstances as to whether the ref book someone for it.
