sadly despite losing, its been a good night for Liverpool with Basel losing....

they've been crap, and yet will probably end up qualifying anyways.....i honestly believe our Europa league group is tougher than their Champions league group....

Not like they haven't just spent £32m on Moreno and Lovren or anything.

Llori 7m
Sakho 18m

Mario 16m

Lallana 25m

Markovic 25m

they're competing with two teams now rather than one. grantted they would have been out if basle did the double

How have liverpool been put ahead of Basel when the head to head should have Basel ahead???

Seems to be on GD with Ludo -1, RS -3, Basel -4. You would expect them to do it that way but it's worth remembering head-to-head comes into it when teams are tied.

If two or more teams are equal on points on completion of the group matches,
the following criteria are applied to determine the rankings (in descending
order):
a) higher number of points obtained in the group matches played among the
teams in question;
b) superior goal difference from the group matches played among the teams
in question;
c) higher number of goals scored in the group matches played among the
teams in question;
d) higher number of goals scored away from home in the group matches
played among the teams in question;
e) if, after having applied criteria a) to d), teams still have an equal ranking,
criteria a) to d) are reapplied exclusively to the matches between the
teams in question to determine their final rankings. If this procedure does
not lead to a decision, criteria f) to h) apply;
f) superior goal difference from all group matches played;
g) higher number of goals scored from all group matches played;
h) higher number of coefficient points accumulated by the club in question,
as well as its association, over the previous five seasons

So we can clearly expect the RS to squeeze through on rule H by finishing = 2nd with Ludo (after a 2-1 reverse in Bulgaria).

Thanks for the clarification.

Rule "I" ...Change any rule that stops the RS progressing

Did you get that off RAWK.........

Because they have been humiliated and are looking for a scapegoat to hide their shame.

Classy as per usual.

Funny how they defended Suarez on multiple occasions, but Balotelli gives away his shirt? GERROUT MY CLUB.

I guess it's because Balotelli is crap.

feel a bit sorry for balotelli here, why's he being made a scapegoat? they've spent more on other players who have done less.
Definitely been made the scapegoat, he missed a couple of passes etc and didn't really drive the team forward but a lot if their real problems are in midfield and defence.

The first part of winning a game is not losing it and Balotelli isn't responsible for not being able to defend against simple corners.
