Last bit of anxiety over today. Relieved and dare I say it, actually impressed, by Motherwell's performances over both legs in their thrashing of Rangers.

Hopefully Baraclough will sort things out next season, don't need another slow start. Like Everton, Motherwell started early in Europe and it totally disrupted the flow of the young team and they couldn't recover from early injuries and a small squad.

He was only trying to sweep the ball towards the Rangers player. He missed it and followed through by accident with the swing.

Because if he really meant to assault him then he would have aimed for the nads!

No, I can't explain that part of it. You can easily draw your own conclusion from the footage.

But as for the first bit, I don't think the guy went to hit McCulloch in the face with the umbrella. It seemed more he tried to brush the ball towards the player (I don't know why!) missed it and made contact with the face.
