so it sounds like arsenal got raped on the counter. basically what we've been doing all season in europe and crushing teams.

...we'll go there and try and pass them off the park sunday and howard will let in a howler at 0-0.

Isn't it nice when your striker doesn't pick a knockout stages game to become Dozy Altidore.

That was fun, for some more fun I'm off to find a member of Isis to discuss the joys of a bacon sarnie.

Enjoy Sunday lads and if it's not too much trouble leave Naismith and Lukaku at home. Cheers, thank you and time for Beer...make that more Beer.

You'd rather have Naismith on the pitch. Trust me

Just confirms what has been felt for some time now. The Premier League is absolutely naff in terms of quality, the league needs to take a look at itself and reassess things. Reduce it to 18 teams, and have a winter break would be a start.

Yep. The league is so poor compared to others. OK much money, 2nd rate imports and no desire

Erm... that shouldn't be too much trouble mate

The number of teams isnt the problem, all this (and FWIW the humiliation at the World Cup) is is the knock-on effect of having fifteen years of money keeping the same four clubs (and one circus) at the top of the league.

I don't think it's the money, per se,mate, it's how it's utilised and the current culture imo

Are you suggesting we spend boxing day with our birds?

Leave it as it is, if that means none of the sky4 win the CL in the near future even better.

It is nice to think that money is ruining the game, but in reality the opposite is true, the competitive nature of the top 4 means that when it come to a choice between qualifying for next years competition and going on a run and likely being knocked out by madrid/barca/bayern, almost all clubs will pick the former.

The only clubs that do well are those that prioritise it (Chelsea) and those that already have qualification secure (Madrid, Bayern, Barca, formerly United) through years of money meaning they will always be top of their league.

Also playing against teams like Stoke/Palace etc every week is hardly great preparation for Europe, and the negative football being played at the bottom in order to survive in the PL is where the argument that money is hindering us in Europe can be made.
