No I'm not. I agree about your sentiments and personally it shouldn't be, but a precedent has been set so that it constitutes violent conduct.

If you run over and push someone over at this level then you have to accept (or at least expect) a punishment. It's not rugby or a heavy metal gig.

Comparing them without considering the context of the offence, or the audience, doesn't work.

Suarez bit someone and got a mere football ban, yet if you did it in real life you'd be facing affray or ABH. Sports rules are sometimes funny things...
