I desperately want the Kopites in the first possible round now. We can do these if it isn't in a SF or final.

Bring it on UEFA.

Even when they're sh**, we still seem to go into derbies with loads of injuries and consequently don't beat them. I need a derby win or two under my belt before I can be genuinely optimistic about them again. 2010. Hodgson. That was the last time. It'll have been the best part of 5 years by the time we play them.

I argued the line last week (and it's statistically correct) that we have got the better of them in cups prior to the SF/Final stages. I'd fancy us over two legs against them. We seem to have a thing for the EL league this season.

All the omens are there!

I honestly don't think they have any chance to win the EL, teams like Napoli and Wolfsburg will flatten them, it won't be a contest. This is a very very crap squad with an extremely limited passing ability and yet Rodgers is insisting that they play from the back. They have no chance.

I just think that with Sturridge back and possibly a big spend in January, they could have a decent spell in the second half of the season, like they did in Rodgers' first season when he brought in Sturridge and Coutinho. If that happens, there's no reason why they can't stumble into the late stages of the Europa imo.

They don't have Suarez's 23 goals and 9 assists to fall back on though (12/13 season)

Very true, although finding a partner for Sturridge to replace Suarez may be what they'll try and do in January with their probable big budget. If he can sign another fast striker that can slot consistently, he might be on to something, Rodgers.

You could be right, I personally think they have no chance winning it, they'll exit as soon as they face any respectable team. The only reason why we are wary of Liverpool is because of their run in the PL last year. Teams in Europe have no idea what they did last year and they just don't care, they're giving Liverpool no respect whatsoever. Look at Basle today, pressing high up the pitch at Anfield for God's sakes. No respect whatsoever, they just made a mockery out of them.

that's not why evertonians are wary ha.

for me, it's always due to their jammyness whether it be another woeful decision from a referee, a dive from one of their players or a massive slice of luck like an ebola outbreak in the everton dressing room the week of the derby.

And the fact that they always raise their game for the Derby.........
