Spurs need to get MP time. He's a decent coach.
But my word, there's some rubbish at Spurs these days. Soldado is hopeless, Adebayor can't be arsed, who the eff is Fazio? I could go on and on.
Eriksen is quality, Lamela has potential. Apart from that, far, far too many average players - Spurs burned the Bale money, same as Liverpool did with the Suarez money.
See from a neutral perspective i dont think either club blew the money. Or not in the conventional sense.
Spurs- Eriksen / Lamela / Chriques / Chadli Are all good players. they certainly would be in the everton team and dare i say untied as well for a couple.
Liverpool - Origi / Moreno / Can / the lad that cost 20 million can all be good players. we are all bias about them but in a couple years time they all could be shrewd signings made at the time. Hindsight and all that.
but point is, the problem was not signing the players but buying them all at the same time. It never worked for QPR, almost sent Sunderland down also. thats the biggest problem about spending so much and signing so many.
The difference between spurs and liverpool is that spurs seemed to want some great talent to put into the squad, liverpool just seemed to have a sign anyone they were offered approach.
Fazio was our best player on Sat (apart from Lloris of course).
Real shame about Soldado, the fella can play & his general game has been excellent but for some reason, just cant put the ball in the net at the moment.
I disagree mate, I think Spurs' signings were average-to-decent at best. Paulinho? Can't get a game can he? Lamela looked good at Roma but is a shadow of his former self.
I don't rate the Spurs squad whatsoever. I think they'll struggle this season, probably finish around 8th-10th.
Who are Spurs main central defenders btw? Kaboul? Dawson went to Hull. Fazio? The squad reeks of mediocre.
Then on the wings you've got the choice of Lennon, Townsend etc.
I do like that Harry Kane, he's the only positive for Spurs this season IMO.
As a unit i agree mate. They arent doing that well and it is down to the team and the players they brought in. I just think there is talent in that squad that given a good system and focus could put them in good stead. You talk about spines of teams
Lloris, Dier, Eriksen, Kane is not a bad starting point for a 5 year projection. Add the likes of lamela in that mix and i do believe they have potential to be a great team under their current manager.
