Today’s Football 25/26 Season

100% mate

He thinks hes some modern day Shakespeare, when hes just a poor version of Barry Davis.
Literally no one tunes into football for dramatic poetry readings from the commentator.

I once read an interview with him where he said that the job of a commentator is to let the action do the talking and keep out of its way.

He's right - that is the job of the commentator. It's also the total opposite of what he does.

I hate that Sky also play up to that, by putting him on the 'biggest' (i.e. most viewed) games.

That's why he commentates on the ossified Manchester United every week. Even though they are a shadow of their former selves, they'll get more viewers than any other club - and most of their fans are the sort of armchair lightweights who I imagine love Drury's bollocks.
