Today’s Football 25/26 Season

Emery a disgrace
Back in the days top league sides had a reserve league - the first team squad was smaller - Most teams got fined heavily for fielding weak teams with a vital game coming up - we got done as did Leeds etc -

Nowadays with massive squads it can't happen ....

Perhaps the reserves league needs to be installed - e g Barry could have played most of the season in it .....

Anything that lessens the richest top clubs' advantage will never come back. No chance. Bigger squads, more subs are here to stay

Indeed.

Bring back the Central League.

They should have been down and out last week, so no complaints.
If Everton were in Villa’s position, safety in a CL position and with a second leg euro semi final to come maybe I would want a few players rested.

Of course you would.

But you would also expect those players that took to the pitch, particularly the fringe players, to put a bit of effort in.

Those Villa players made no attempt to get competitive last night and it stinks to high heaven.

Well at least West Ham know they can't lose either of the next two games otherwise it's over before the final round.

Spurs are beating Leeds = 4 points clear, 2 games left

West ham are losing to Arsenal = 4 points behind, 2 games left

Spurs are losing to Chelsea = 4 points ahead. 1 game left

West Ham must therefore beat Newcastle to go 1 point behind and hope they win AND Spurs lose to us final day.

A draw and Spurs defeat isn't enough due to vastly inferior goal difference.

Obviously that could all change if Leeds pull off an almighty shock at Spurs, but they won't.

I put Spurs about 1000-1 to be relegated from here. I honestly cannot believe how people were convincing themselves that they'd get relegated, especially with West Ham being massively worse than them and Spurs having loads of strikers at their disposal and a mostly first choice defence.

Their squad is huge, easily enough to stay up despite loads of injuries!

…often these situations quickly unravel and the final day becomes an anti-climax. I expect that’ll be the case here, Spurs got the ‘unexpected win’ and played with a spirit that most teams would’ve found difficult.

I don't think anyone was properly convinced, well I wasn't at least, we were all just willing it into happening like.
