Today’s Football 25/26 Season

Well, this is the point! They adored defending and made an artform of it. The best attacking players in the world struggled with it. Today, by contrast, I don't think there is much emphasis put on defending. The Italians have gone down the toilet, the Germans have forgotten what it is to defend, and I can't name a handful of genuinely world-class defenders, when there are multiple world-class attackers around today. It's lovely to watch, but seems unbalanced to me.

Gone from Chiellini and Bonucci to Calafiori.
There was always something magic about italian defenders who saw it as a personal insult if they conceded.
