Very rarely tune in to European footy but really pleased I have this evening. What a superb 45 mins that was, two attacking teams going for it, players willing to run with the ball and take their man on and quality play all over the pitch. Fantastic.

Such a beautiful half of football…and VAR has to rear its ugly kin face to nudge the ref to award a joke of a pen.

The game is better when the laws are tightly enforced in favor of giving penalties because it makes defensive anti-football less viable. Beautiful football doesn’t exist like this in the PL because the PL refuses to incentivize attacking play with decisions such as that one.
