He is on double figures for a team in a relegation fight. Our top scorer is on 6 and the striker most likely to be our first choice for the rest of the season has only scored in 5 of our 31 games this season. So does anyone still think we made a mistake not re-signing dcl on a huge wedge like I kept hearing when he scored a few tap ins?
Four games no goals for Leeds now
He’s no better than what we have, he’s missed plenty of tap ins too like hitting the post against us from six yards. He is on double figures for a team in a relegation fight. Pretend we are too good for him all you want, but he probably would have done really well with Illy, Grealish and KDH when you think about how many “tap ins” our strikers have missed.

Agreed. He’s no better than what we have, he’s missed plenty of tap ins too like hitting the post against us from six yards.
He has ten goals in 27, two were penalties.
Our two strikers who have shared our 31 games have scored 12 between them.
I don’t think any of the three strikers are good enough for where we want to be, but I’m glad we didn’t give him a huge contract like the reported 100k a week Leeds are giving him, making him by far their biggest earner.
I'd have him every day of the week over what we have but it does seem funny his impersonation of LazarusHe is on double figures for a team in a relegation fight. Depends how much we get back for Barry and how long he’s here… obviously I never would’ve signed Barry but let’s say we sell him for a loss and get 20m in the summer. That will mean we’ve paid out less than DCLs three year contract at 15.6m.What’s cheaper, giving him 100k a week,
Or spending £27m on Barry and giving him £45k a week?
Personally I’d rather have kept Beto and DCL and not signed Barry as DCL is a better technical footballer than both of them. (Saying that, I feel we need 3 strikers on the books regardless and we only have 2).Depends how much we get back for Barry and how long he’s here… obviously I never would’ve signed Barry but let’s say we sell him for a loss and get 20m in the summer. Point is anyway as stated above his goals per games is about the same as the awful but young Barry and much worse than Beto. My main feeling at the end of last season was I’d rather keep Beto and not give Dom a huge contract as he’ll get more goals and definitely stay fit and so far he’s doing that.
Fair play to Dom for being fit all season and scoring 8 from open play but he’s never performing like a 100k pw three year deal signing, I bet Leeds fans aren’t having that.
I do think we’d have been better off with him instead of Barry if we ignore cost of wage and previous fitness record but honestly after how the club stuck by him throughout his terrible fitness and goalscoring record, the fact he demanded six figures a week off us left a very bad taste in my mouth.Personally I’d rather have kept Beto and DCL and not signed Barry as DCL is a better technical footballer than both of them. If we had given him a new contract, and he went and got double figures for us, we then could potentially have made some money on him a year down the line, or we kept him and actually had a striker that is scoring double figures.
I reckon Leeds fans are more than happy that him getting double figures may well keep them up.
I still have PTSD from oursSpurs v Notts Forest today. Isn’t it nice not to be involved with these survival dog fights
