the mystique of it all is well and truly lost now
i remember when players in italy and spain had near mythical status: ronaldo, batistuta, crespo, rivaldo etc. youd see them a handful of times a year in europe (in either champions league or uefa cup , the latter being a serious competition then) on terrestrial telly, and then again every 2-4 years during the summer
and in those major tournaments players would come from nowhere and become stars overnight. remember moyes going to japan and korea on a scouting mission, be no point now as they would already know everything about every player there
now you can just watch every single game via whatever device and find compilations of them all over the internet
the premier league is fast becoming the only super power in world football, with only a handful of clubs able to match them for finances and pulling power
it all starting going wrong when we loaned a cast off in Deulofeu to Milan. as much as i want everton to succeed i despair for a world in which we come 7th in the league but a club like Milan are not even rich enough to sign our unwanted players
