Today’s Football 25/26 Season

Bottom 3 currently have less points than the previous few seasons when we all Luton/Ipswich worst ever.

I look at West Ham and expect 18th to pickup more than I perhaps expected Luton or Ipswich but they're currently tracking behind.
The only reason I still give them a small chance is that they have a goalscorer in Bowen and another really good player in Paqueta. Bowen could win them a few games if he hits form.

The problem is that the rest of their team is really really bad. And their stadium gives them no hone advantage whatsoever

Thats football mate. Don't get so defensive. Like on some sort of crusade defending things that dont need defending. Not everything is a pop.

We’re the same with Leeds, and Burnley beat us comfortably! Wolves played really well against us too and were unlucky.

Have West Ham in a few weeks, and it’ll probably be just when they find form under a new manager!

Premier League is proper competitive, even with so called crap sides.

No easy games anymore, the top sides are finding that out for themselves. Anyone can take points off anyone if your not right at it from the off.

I reckon they’re probably done for as well, but it’s only 2 wins and a draw. I’d be fuming if I thought we’d given up at that point.

The only good thing about being down the bottom end of the table, is the teams around you don’t tend to pick up many points either.

I think West Ham have to hope Leeds drop off, but right now they're playing well and picking up points. Difficult to see anyone else being so bad they get dragged in.

I dont think we ever fell as far behind as 7 points from safety. Even when we were 3 or 4 points adrift I think we often had games in hand.

3 wins is a huge amount when you are a team who aren't good at winning. I'm not saying West Ham are gone but they are in deep deep trouble. Odds on to go down now. You can lose at home to your nearest rival when you are already 4 points behind.
We’ve been cut adrift a few times in my lifetime. The problem isn’t necessarily the players giving up.

First of all the managers tactics have to change, draws no longer are good enough (for a team where even a draws a struggle) and you go searching for wins - and it heaps pressure on the squad. Especially against other teams around you. Can lead to daft decisions making, red cards etc.

But the atmosphere around the club also changes, dans don’t get up for the games and the fight sort of goes from the crowd. When you go behind nobody believes you can change it around. And I think that kind of transfers to the players too.
