Our manager took off Harrison for Holgate and gave up when we were 2 down to them

Mentality and culture come from the top. If your manager doesn't set standards and demand a lot, then don't be surprised to lose a lot.

I look at Brighton and just think they basically do every aspect of football better than us

Sign better players
Hire better managers
Play better football
Smarter with the financial aspect

In 2024 there's nothing quite as delicious as watching one of the self appointed scab six get schooled by one of the just making up the numbers 14.
Particularly Spurs who in my opinion due to their distinct lack of success on the pitch are the most deluded of the bunch.
