He's a fantastic talent. I dont think he's as deadly or disciplined as Rooney was at his age though. Rooney had a very old head on young shoulders.

This season Yamal's decision making cost Barca a CL final place by not being savvy enough to run down the clock in the closing moments of that SF 2nd leg against Inter when they were almost booked for the Allianz Arena. On Sunday against Portugal his lack of concentration allowed Mendes to coast past him and deliver the all important equaliser (with the aid of a deflection) to Ronaldo.

He's going to be massively successful and have a trophy laden career because he's the icing on the cake at Barcelona. I could do without the hype over him now though. He's arrived.

Saying he was to blame is honestly ridiculous, mate. The Barca defence was far more at fault

Barca were winning with about 90 seconds / a couple of minutes to go. He had the ball at his feet and could have taken it to the corner flag and killed the tie off. He chose to go for glory but hit the post and the rest is history. The Barcelona defence shouldn't have had to see the ball again, tbf.

Yamal is a great talent. But you have to call out errors and weaknesses otherwise it's just a big love in and you cant distinguish between geniuses and 'just' the very good. Yamal is somewhere in between those two categories at the moment IMO.
