The contrast between this match and the Nations League between France and Spain is pretty stark. I'm not sure how anyone benefits from this kind of game. It feels a complete waste in an already stuffed calendar.

It’s like he’s made a point of solely picking “winners”, meaning players that have won something this season. But sadly that’s not how football works.

He’s a very weird bloke and a terrible fit for this job in my opinion. Also think the media are dying to turn on him and when that happens it’s curtains.

I don’t expect us to do anything at the World Cup and think we may have blown our biggest opportunity in the years 2020-2024 when the likes of Spain and France were floundering. That coupled with getting gifted the kindest possible draws at every turn in every tournament. We wasted potentially the only realistic opportunity we’ll get in our lifetime, and put it into the hands of a pretend football manager.
