Today’s Football - 2024/25 Season

Winning the Europa League is much easier than it used to be now that there’s no dropdown for Champions League teams to enter for the knockouts. The only tricky tie Spurs had was Frankfurt and they were getting close to going out to Alkmaar in the round of 16.

With the glow of winning the EL, a rejuvenation of a new season, and new challenges and the benefit of the experience of going through last season, I'd have no doubt they'd go back up the table next season. Not just that, but bounce back with a chance of winning one or both of the League/FA Cup, which would then build them up as a whole.

But I think that momentum is now gone from Tottenham, and I'm not sure how their bounce back is going to turn out.

Reading this thread has me wondering if Alex Crook has 5 accounts on here.

I would not be expecting much from Thomas Frank, but I think that's how Tottenham like it.

Can't see Frank working out at Spurs. In fact I haven't got a clue who could go into that place and work well with that viper Levy.

If Frank does leave Brentford I see them as struggling next season and potential relegation candidates.

What a turn around that Everton are now regarded as one of the more stable clubs 😂

I think Iraola is worth a punt at 20/1 to go to spurs.

Losing his best players at Bournemouth and the lure of CL football might be enough to take him away from there.

Reckon he’s a more progressive and interesting coach than Frank who is hot favourite with the bookies.

Controversial, but I think Tottenham have made the correct call in sacking Postecoglou. I base this on the view that Man Utd made a mistake in keeping Ten Hag in post after winning a trophy, despite a fairly poor and somewhat stagnant league season.

For me, I didn't think Postecoglou could improve Spurs any further, despite winning the Europa League. Probable targets to replace him will include Thomas Frank and Andoni Iraola. Given that Brentford and Bournemouth both look set to lose key players this summer, one of those managers may be open to jumping ship. I would rather see Iraola go to Spurs as I wouldn't mind seeing Thomas Frank become our manager in the future.

Brentford would be in big trouble if Frank left imo.

Someone mentioned De Zerbi to me a few weeks back and said it was nailed on. Literally just popped into my head and I can't even remember who it was who told me lol

Edit - apparently he rejected them an hour ago as well 😂
