I genuinely don't think we would: there'd be those who do, but I personally think the whole sentiment is manufactured by their fans to separate them.

Would it happen at us, Tranmere, Marine, Southport or whatnot? I doubt it'd be anywhere near as prominent.

For me, the whole 'Scouse, not English' thing is bizarre. I'm proud of being from Liverpool, but I am a proud Englishman - like I'm a proud Brit.

Most of them don't even believe it or whatnot, but it's become a moniker they all feel obliged to take. I love this city, but some of the slurs thrown at it...

... well, they're not entirely unsupported.
