Your failure to grasp how development works is just really tough for me to wrap my head around
Facts all of them failed to take the chances given to them. Lookman in particular was open about wanting to go back to Leipzig after the loan, only to hardly feature when he did go back (23 games over the two spells)

Vlasic has only made 5 league appearances for West Ham, the other 7 have been in cups and he’s yet to score for them

You have to remember we made Lookman waste a year not playing for us before allowing him to leave at which point RBL had largely moved on but brought him in anyway as an asset because having young players is their model. Vlasic is new with a manager who usually takes time to bed players in. Benrahma has looked much better as time has gone on as a reference point. These are players who would be at worst useful squad members for us if we committed to developing them.

I don't want to do the "they didn't take their chances" battle again, but imo that is flawed thinking.

Jorginho, who isn't the best midfielder on Chelsea or Italy, was voted at least one of the five best players in Europe. The way football is covered in the media is just so broken.

if he did keep them up it would have to go down as one of the greatest managerial achievements of the century
Started the season with only 9 senior players and no centre backs amongst them. Suffered 21 points deductions.
So far, lost only 5 games.
A young, progressive manager dealing with tough financial conditions.

Are they progressive though? Genuine question, 16 goals in 19 games doesn't really say that to me but it isn't like I'm watching Derby play.
