It really is [insert crap Everton manager] at its absolute worst. Around the back, down the flank, winger getting the ball too close to the touchline to do anything, back around the back to the other side, try to hit a miracle switch or smash it at the strikers forehead, repeat, repeat, repeat.

Throw in the goal from a set play and there you go. PTSD here.

I’m happy mate. Olise isn’t physically ready yet. Proved today. Not helped by Gerards excellent tactical plan but nonetheless the kid looked lost. He’ll come good and today will have helped him in the long run but keeping him on today was cruel.

Oh don't give Gerrard too much credit mate. That was a disaster from Vieria through and through. Gerrard did a Sean Dyche.

You all might end up in a weird spot with Vieria. He wants to play in a way and do things that make sense with the players your signing. And I'm also not sure he actually is any good. Sort of the Ole problem at United. It all made sense until he had to manage the team.

I thought today was really bad tactically. I said somewhere it was in the Martinez/Koeman class of pointless possession that goes nowhere close to anywhere and I really mean that. I was disappointed.

I agree that the tactics were poor today and would like to have seen variations. In the ten minutes or so after the Scluup for Zaha switch we went through the middle a couple of times which led to a good Benteke effort. Otherwise, a bad day at the office. Need Anderson and MacArthur back pronto.

MacArthur was such a big miss. Kouyate and Milavojovic both sat deep and Zaha drifted wide so there was no one to do anything in the left side of central midfield. I thought Hughes as a sub made sense.

Yep. Hughes as a DM while MacArthur is injured and Milijeovic is out of nick is the obvious move. Today being 2 down, Eze & Gallagher rotating was worth a pint.
