Well, possibly. We are a new side with a new manager playing attractive attacking football. The transformation in the effectiveness and enjoyment has been incredible. I think this season we are a top half team with (as you say) an outside (a very outside) chance of sneaking a European place. Wonderful though that would be I’m not sure we have either the squad in terms of both size and experience to cope with that. Keep improving, keep Gallagher, add to the squad, maybe next season.
 
Too much pep in arteta sadly - he thinks he is a far better coach than he is and he thinks his team is better than it is.

Partey is exactly what I thought he would be - an imposter hiding in plain sight, coward of a footballer, no use to this league.

Ben White is an absolute crab and ramsdale is the same keeper I saw playing awfully for sheff Utd.

All that and they are 5th in the best league in de world?!? Farcical.

That's what I mean. There's no belief they can win so they don't even try. Sure, they'll jog around and put 'the numbers' in, but there's no thrust about the attacking etc.

Liverpool aren't a side gifted with overwhelming world class talent, but their mentality is spot on.

Brighton played it better though. I don’t mind teams losing against them but it’s the embarrassing implosions when a team are beaten in the tunnel that are annoying. Brighton West Ham Brentford showed how you can get at this team if you just play effectively, don’t make stupid mistakes, and actually take the game to them. Too many teams don’t play anywhere near their level against them.

Give Everton their due, that apart from the odd mullering at Anfield here and there, we’ve generally actually made life difficult for them most times we’ve played recently. There’s no reason Arsenal Spurs Porto etc. couldn’t do this but instead they just get rolled over time after time in embarrassing fashion.

And Paul Merson said Partey was signing of the summer the other year, yet said we ruined the transfer window when we signed Richarlison for a similar amount
