I take no pleasure in saying this but the RS have the best XI in the league. We need an injury or two in key areas to slow them as they don't have depth like City or Chelsea. Maybe the workload over Christmas and then into the CL knockouts will do it.
It's a shootout between Chelsea and City.

Liverpool cant hold on to them for much longer.

Sure.

It’s a complete myth they have the best 11. Their right back can’t defend. VVD is all over the place. Henderson is a jobbing midfielder and Firmino isn’t a top striker. Their 11 isn’t any better than City or Chelsea’s 11. The difference is Liverpool barely suffer any injuries and few other teams can match their doped up consistency combined with favourable refereeing.

Most fullbacks can't defend in this era of high line football, fullbacks are 70% attacking 30% defending, the likes of Cancelo, Hakimi , Alexander play like midfielder winger hybrids who bomb forward and come inside linking play. The days of pure defending FBs play for teams who never win anything and are from a bygone age, the game has evolved to a faster more goals more chance creation, hence the age of the attacking full back., Shows how Cafu and Carlos were ahead of their time ,they wouldn't look out of place in today's football two decades later.

For me their best XI has arguably the best keeper, arguably the best CB, two fullbacks who regardless of their weaknesses are perfect for the system their used in and the best attack as well as the single best player in the league right now (Salah just is at this point). The midfield is light in comparison but Klopp has spent his entire time trying to play with a functional midfield that isn't as vital. They've got a strong side. I mean they went to a United side in a similar state to what City just faced and one did a hell of a lot more damage.

Conspiracies or not they're going to take some beating if they're healthy. I just don't trust City to consistently score goals playing this false 9 stuff each week and Chelsea don't actually know who their best XI is which is both good and bad. They were horrendously unlucky today tbf.

Solanke got his 14th for Bournmouth. Get him in in Jan.
Mitrovic got his 20th of the season for Fulham. Shows what an absolute chasm there is between the championship and the Premier League. When players like these and teams like Norwich take the absolute pee in the second tier then look like they've never kicked a ball in their lives when there in the prem.
