Yes, if we hadn't had that decent start we would be in relegation zone. Must be the biggest decline in the league since Hull were in play offs for months and ended up getting relegated

Seriously where was all this for Iraq and Afghan?

Surely its pretty obvious why this stuff didn't exist for Iraq and Afghanistan ?

- The wars in Iraq and Afghan were sold in the media as us being the good guys to go and take out the baddies (Sadam and Bin Laden).
- The national press isn't going to go against its own troops in a time of war, same goes for all business's, sport teams etc. Would you really expect us to be wearing the Iraq flag whilst Sadam was in power and British troops were trying to capture him ?
- Lots of people genuinely believed we were going to Iraq to get rid of WMDs and make the world safer

Its not really a comparable situation from a western perspective.

Also it was the two wars in Iraq and Afghanistan that shaped the current day public perception of going to war, anti-war stances became a lot more mainstream and accepted in the years following Iraq once the realities of the war played out infront of the world.
