This is such a key point. He is being picked for United and England because of a pricetag. If he was out of contract and signed for United, he wouldn't be playing for either now. On the mental health issue, he does give the appearance of someone who is really really struggling with the burden of pressure, his form & incident in Greece.

He needs out of the firing line, but I cannot see OGS having the bravery to do that.

That's the key.

Remove the price tag...He's shipped in 11 goals in 3 games and on the end of a 6.1 spanking. His form is off. Shouldn't play.

Same with Pickford. He's been practically throwing the ball into his net since the restart of last season. Shouldn't play.

There was nothing outlandish by the ref that would make your blood boil imo. The only player that had a go at the ref was Reece James so that tells you that either the other players weren't bothered or didn't think he was that bad.

As for the pen...for me it looked like a mess between a panicking keeper and defender. Neither got the ball...Walker swung a leg and missed the ball, the striker fell over. Right from the off it looked like something happened just by the fact no one had been in control.

If VAR was used it would've still been a penalty too

The decision made the word soft seem totally inadequate it took several slow motion replays to establish there had been any contact at sll, certainly nothing even remotely approaching enough to be called an infringement.

In real time it looked a staggering decision, truly mystifying that just had viewers wondering what on earth he's signalling for? The referee's display was perhaps just a real off day, everyone has them, or perhaps he was just out of his depth and wasn't up to it, it certainly begged that question. No you're right, It hardly made your blood boil, rather more like a player struggling very badly for form you just ended up feeling very sorry for him and his inadequacy.

Everyone's at Southgate's jugular now but far too early. All was fine until corona and now we have some internationals breaks crowbarred into a packed premier league schedule. Very difficult. I won't join any "Southgate out" shouts until after the Euros.
Same here, I am not sure what the fans expect, we have a dodgy defence and have done for nearly 10 years so when it comes to the crunch we will fail. He overachieved in the World Cup and people expect too much.

Benrahma has FAILED his West Ham medical putting the deal in real jeopardy, time for Moyes to get him for a tenth of the fee?

Doesn't want Andy Carroll mark II on his hands

De Bruyne ruled out for a bit and I truly can see the title now being a runaway for the Kopites unless us or Spurs make a run. Chelsea for me have too many new pieces to expect them to have title winning consistency this season and Arsenal are a bit of a mirage under Mikel Allardyce. And no shot for United. I guess maybe Leicester could have a shot. It's a bit open and at the same time if the RS find form it could be them pulling away.

Anyway big game tomorrow.

Did you miss them getting beat 7-2 by Villa?

Not quite sure this will be the walkover many predict.

Last season they were utterly unstoppable, will be very difficult for them to maintain that level again.

I saw it. Villa scored 3 deflected goals. I'm not saying they didn't deserve to win but on another day it is 4-2 and the sky isn't falling as much. They miss Alisson but they've also added a different dynamic in Thiago. Unfortunately they'll still be a good side.

What I'm really saying is we need to take our chance to jump on them because I honestly think if De Bruyne misses a few weeks we've got the best chance of staying near the top of any non-RS side.

Forget City, they needed quality and they signed Nathan bloody Ake.

I don't see anybody other than Liverpool winning the title, but they wont get near to the points they got last season, IMO.
It's very very early and we have the exact opposite of depth in the squad but we've played at a getting over 80 points and being in contention level. Spurs have too but Europa will mess them up I think. After that it is bleak unless you think City or Chelsea's raw talent will show soon.
