I think the FA would be best letting Southgate finish off this Nation’s League campaign then binning him and letting someone more experienced take the World Cup Qualifiers and next summer’s Euros

Mouthed off at the ref for no reason.

Best England player tonight too.

Nothing to mouth off at the ref about, can't understand most of his decisions and his contribution was the decisive factor in the goal that won the game, but apart from all that nothing at all tbh.

Tbf it's normal to shake hands or elbows with the man of the match and Jesus Gil must be odds on to claim to that honour.

The goal was down to him and the win arguably too, some of his decisions I'm still wondering why, what for? He got the sending off right, but a child of three would have too

lol

Wales haven't conceded a competitive goal for over 10 hours, magnificent when they're constantly playing different defences, young kids and players who are getting no club football.

Giggs has surprised me, i was writing him off after a few games looked clueless.

But what a boring group this is ha 9 goals in the 8 games, nearly half of those coming in the last 10 mins (all of wales' 3 goals coming in that manner).

Correct decision in sending Maguire off
Penalty looked like one in real time. Looked like a panic and no England player got the ball.

No VAR to review so...no complaints from me

Of course the sending off was right, I don't give Gil any credit for that, it was absolutely obvious.

You don't penalise a keeper for handling the ball, which is what I can only assume he gave the pen for, it wasn't just the pen, there was a whole series of mysterious decisions, at least few knew why or understood them, he was very poor indeed, but delivered the winning blow.

I really, really don't understand how on earth did it look like a pen in real time, i must have been watching a different game......

I'll get my TV fixed tomorrow.

Talking about Maguire's mental health now.

Or...pick people on form.

This is such a key point. He is being picked for United and England because of a pricetag. If he was out of contract and signed for United, he wouldn't be playing for either now. On the mental health issue, he does give the appearance of someone who is really really struggling with the burden of pressure, his form & incident in Greece.

He needs out of the firing line, but I cannot see OGS having the bravery to do that.

Without Bale and Ramsey for a lot of it as well

You have to applaud such an achievement, whatever the standard of opposition, and the b section of the nation's league excludes all the best sides. I always laugh at the insertion of 'competitive' so any games against far stronger sides can be safely ignored lol

There was nothing outlandish by the ref that would make your blood boil imo. The only player that had a go at the ref was Reece James so that tells you that either the other players weren't bothered or didn't think he was that bad.

As for the pen...for me it looked like a mess between a panicking keeper and defender. Neither got the ball...Walker swung a leg and missed the ball, the striker fell over. Right from the off it looked like something happened just by the fact no one had been in control.

If VAR was used it would've still been a penalty too
