Ha, is this serious?

yeah, he had no test whatsoever before last season. City dominated so much ball that there was no pressure on him. Last year due to injury and small pool of performances was hard to judge but he was dreadful with the exception of his return game v Sheffield United

What is cities plan, is it to play two left footed centre backs or what? An unusual setup if so, Pep trying to prove how 'innovative' he is again?

Need two cb’s and going into a season with one striker, a striker who is not great either. They’re on course to finish a way off the RS again.

Make your mind up. He's gone from "not very good" to "hard to judge" to "dreadful". Was the mainstay in a treble-winning defence that conceded just 23 goals in 18/19, in spite of having three CB partners constantly on rotation. Got injured twice after the Sheff Utd match (first game in 5 months), and lockdown came along. Clearly a disjointed season but let's disregard two years of excellent, solid performances and base our judgements on games that took place over a few weeks (in which he was OK but hardly dreadful).

OK, 66% of their centre backs injured, 2 games into the season, we'd be bemoaning our luck if that was us. Constantly claiming they never get injuries just makes us look petty as feck, especially after a game when they literally had injuries.

It's more a case of never getting injuries to their key players (VVD and the front three). Then you have Jordan "few pills and needles" Henderson who can make miraculous recoveries when he's unable to walk.

This is the salient point. How can anything be judged before the window is closed? I'm certain City will bring in a CB and ship out some deadwood. But I really think another striker is needed. We can't rely on Gabriel Jesus alone.

Can’t see them bothering with a centre half myself. They’ll be happy with Ake & Laporte starting. Otamendi and Stones cover.
