Delighted to see Wolves got beat. Wolves, Villa, Southampton, West Ham and I guess now Arsenal (no way I'm ruling them out of the top 7 after 14 games) are the next rung down after the top 7 or so teams (if we want to include ourselves in that), of which one or maybe two could potentially put a great run together and muscle in, making the race for European places more awkward. I'd prefer to be as far ahead of them as possible, as soon as possible.

Maybe I'm too naive but I think consistently negative management like what Moyes, Dyche and Bruce deploy is never really necessary even with the less talented team.

Mourinho has built a career off being negative and delivered numerous trophies. Wouldn’t say West Ham are being negative in this game, he’s just identified someone he wants to stop

Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo tells BBC Sport: "Football is a physical game, a game of contact and referees taking the decisions and being fair but the referee is not good enough to whistle, Lee Mason is not good enough.

"The way he handles the game, it is about the major, crucial decisions, it is about how he handles the players, both teams are always arguing the decision. He must improve because the game requires good refereeing and good handling of the game so the players can perform.

"It is his job, he has to improve, he has to get better. When we saw the nomination, we did not understand it because he is a point of distraction. He worsens the flow of the game."

but whose comparing Moyes to mourinho, certainly not me
I was. I think they have similar tactical ideas but when you've got Ronaldo or Samuel Eto'o and Wesley Sneijder or Son and Kane you can win things while if you have Antonio and Bowen or Fellaini and Cahill your ceiling is lower.

It isn't only that which separates them, Jose is clearly way better than Moyes at making little adjustments in important games to pick up points but I think that they have a similar outlook on how to best win matches.

Point is I think they're both massively boring and I think generally speaking managers can be more positive than they have been. Part of Jose's tearing down of clubs comes from his rigid belief that he's right and players getting really tired of deferring to teams they are better than.
