Oh dear, the flavour of the month manager beaten at home by dinosaur Moyes. Who are all the Carlo out fanboys going to get behind now?
No way do I want Carlo to go and reckon he's a really top manager, someone we're very lucky to have. Davey has a ceiling of top six or seven and we know that is extremely unlikely to win anything with us. He would offer us a reasonable finishing position but never challenge the big boys.

But Moyes is a good manager at the right club he's not a relegation specialist and won't rescue the likes of Sunderland from their inevitable fate. He does understand tactics and has a football brain. He can see Haller is no Antonio, he just isn't good enough and holds no threat compared to Antonio. So while the reversion to a back four wasn't an immediate response to the lack of Antonio, it allowed Benrahma to come in and add the menace that Haller lacks.

Moyesey is doing a good job at West Ham and is giving them every prospect of a top half finish or maybe even slightly better than that.

Moyes was amazing for us. Very unlucky not to win a trophy but had us playing good football, bought some unbelievable players on a shoestring budget and really 'got' the club.

Yes his record was crap against the top clubs, but let's not forget he took over a really, really poo side and turned us into regular European finishers and brought back, at least some, good times.

What have we done since Moyes with half a billion pounds? Still not beaten Liverpool and are good for a number of humiliating thumpings a season.

If he can lead West Ham to mid table this season and improve on that next season he'll be off to great start again in his second stint with them.
Say what you want about Moyes but as you said very well, the post Moyes era makes Moyes’ time at Everton look like a remarkable achievement more and more so as the years go by. It was considered a remarkable achievement back then it’s why he won multiple manager of the years ahead of managers who won everything at the big clubs.

But the post Moyes era making me feel he should have got one of them awards every year.

It may not be winning football especially for a team just out of the championship but Bielsa's Leeds are fun. If you are going to finish anywhere from 10-17th, being fun is the right idea.
I'm sure that I can't be the only person who doesn't subscribe to the Sky-sponsored theory that Leeds are 'fun to watch'.
They'll have a poor to average season in the Premier League, as shown so far, before the all conquering Bielsa moves on to a big team who, like Sky, think he's the best coach in living memory.

That Madrid derby tonight is looking like a title decider even at this early stage. 3 points for Atletico puts them 9 points ahead of Real with a game in hand, and 15 points ahead of Barcelona.

Agree with this but even more so in that promoted clubs rarely prosper beyond an initial season. Burnley and Wolves are the exception rather than the rule, most aren't anywhere near as succesful.

Look at Sheffield United, they had a remarkable first year considering how poorly financed and backed they are, in direct comparison to Wolves who have the backing and connections. Leeds are better off financially and have richer owners but are struggling even early on in the season. If they don't go further down with the Christmas decorations and survive this year they have second season syndrome to get over next year.

Chris Wilder dismissed such notions and so may Marcel Bielsa, but teams will know them next year, identify their likely threats and better utilise prepared counters.
