For months, in the corner of the screen, on all the screen transitions, on the advertising boards, on the armbands, from all the commentators and pundits, advertised everywhere is 'BLM', as well as being expressly stated every time it happens, that kneeling is in support of the BLM organisation, a deeply controversial organisation. I think it's equally fair to assume that's why they booed as it is to assume that they simply hate black people until they're actually asked.

(for the bold bit) the fans aren't the ones taking the knee, it's the players. They don't have the opportunity to not take the knee, and they also don't have the opportunity to explain why since no one's asked them, it's just assumed.

(second bolded bit) Falling into the trap of just going by the name here. If the tori's started calling themselves the 'anti stepping on puppies party', would you suddenly start supporting them because we all know killing puppies is wrong and that's the only thing that matters about them now? And would you start denigrating anyone who didn't support them as wanting to kill dogs because of their name? Or would you correctly say, it's only a name, sure people agree with the idea that stepping on puppies is wrong, but they still have all these awful policies and we want to vocal show our opposition to them.

People take the knee to follow Kaerpernick's example, and he specifically did the action originally to protest against systematic racism. That's what all the sportsmen and women are supporting, that's what 90% of the people who wear the BLM message on their clothes believe in.

The actual Black Lives Matter group/organisation, no of course you don't have to like or promote them. But you don't seriously think people who are taking the knee and believe in the BLM slogan genuinely know the ins and outs of the organisation? If you have a problem with the organisation, simply don't take the knee and give your reasoning whenever questioned about it after. Booing people are who are taking the knee and , in their way, spreading anti-racism ideals, that itself is nothing other than racism because you're literally airing your dislike for an anti-racism message. If you think otherwise there's really no helping you.

Shouldn't expect any less on an Internet forum debate to be fair, disagreement isn't allowed or you're a racist.

We were off topic anyway, I'll go back to making memes to lift the mood.

Good teams make other teams roll over. United and more recently City were masters of this.

That’s the thing mate, I hate the RS with a vengeance but they are so good at what they do, they have a long injury list but no matter who comes in they just know what is expected of them.

Also as you say Man City were masters of it but, it wasn’t about teams ‘rolling over’ for them, it was all about how brilliant Man City were.

But every game the RS win you’re on here with X team has rolled over for them.Maybe the truth is they are just too good for most teams.

Someone has mentioned that Wolves will play better against us, maybe they will because they are just as good as us.

Brighton didn’t roll over for them. We didn’t roll over for them. City didn’t. I don’t think West Ham or Sheffield United did either even though they lost. Leeds didn’t although they were stupid to give a pen away.

There’s no doubt though that Leicester, Wolves and Chelsea did not play to their normal levels against them. They are a very good team and they can take some teams apart but these teams looked beaten even coming out of the tunnel when arguably Leicester and Wolves were both in good enough form to give them far better games.

This is a horrible compliment but I think the City of the past few years had the Guardiola effect where teams were beaten before they stepped on the pitch but rare occasions where teams actually decided to play a bit showed that City weren’t as good as as they were made out to be.

I (unfortunately) think Liverpool can back this up on the pitch far better than City could ever could and that includes European games

The thing with Man City is that you just know they have defeats in them when it matters whoever they are playing, the thing with the RS is they are relentless, no matter who they are playing you always expect them to win.

Teams play better against us because they genuinely feel they have a good chance of winning...and they are right. Against RS, they have given up before they take the pitch. Our team inspires zero fear, only confidence.

Everton that

Good point that mate. Even Burnley whose normal tactics are get everyone behind the ball and just lob it forward, they were that confident against us they actually played footy on the ground, at times we made them look like the Barca of old,

Another salient observation (imo): nearly all our players (and manager) have a body language that suspicions unhappiness. I diagnose that as homesickness. But RS players live in the same locales as ours , come from international places...and yet they seem so happy, void of homesickness. What the hell is it that specifically makes people unhappy at Everton. I can understand Everton's fanbase being miserable-our team is crap-but why are our players and managers so hobbled by misery?
An inquiry needs to be conducted to establish the source of the sadness. Simply passing it off as 'a rum do' just doesn't cut the mustard any more. The black dog that permeates the Everton mentality needs to be euthanised...and pronto!!

Then we need to stop this loser mentality which permeates the club fom top to bottom...
Sick of seeing "Everton that", "we're not allowed nice things", "we are cursed"
25 years of winning feck all, but as long as we remain in the Prem that's apparently OK with the owner and board.
The poison is ingrained and we need to find an antidote

agreed...we have to stop the misery!!

Totally agree mate, we’ve always been one of those clubs who are happy to take a pat on the head and know our place.
