Northern Ireland may well lose this game, but they have shown more resilience and heart than many Everton players have done in our colours. It goes to show that old adage that ability only gets you so far and it’s the other attributes that make the difference. Sure they have nothing of the ball but they have had a game plan and shown more spirit than we do in tough away games. Love them to sneak a win on the counter.

It really is odd that we have paid off the managers of the Belgium and Dutch teams.

May put a few bob on Silva getting the Portugal job or something similar when we volley him out the door next week.

It really is odd that we have paid off the managers of the Belgium and Dutch teams.

Definitely, I was one of the few who thought sacking Koeman wasn't a good move. The nightmare fixture list, Walsh's summer spree and the Europa had all combined to leave confidence on the floor.

I know results in the end kill managers but look at the fiasco after we booted him out - the massively unbalanced team was now accompanied by a rookie absolutely out of his depth and panic set in.

Sometimes sacking a manager isn't always the answer.

We're a seriously struggling sacking club who have won nothing for 24 years and still think managers can't wait to come if we sack our present one.
