I’ll be honest. Nobody else is getting that first penalty United got. I’m not really bothered it was given so much as I’m bothered that the consistency of officiating is so piss poor among different clubs. Hell look at our obvious penalty shout today that they didn’t even bother to check on VAR

They spent hundreds on garbage, which the DOF signed, not him.

Start of the season, keeping them up would have been the priority, and he did that.

Based on the fact his job is now “safe”, guess you’d have to say it would have been mad.
Hmm am not sure if many people would be shocked if he got sacked

id say nigel pearson was alot more “mad”

best academy in the league for about 6 years in a row, already had Pulisic, the same squad bar Hazard that won the Europa league a year ago. He was hardly slumming it with relegation fodder.
The only teams in top 10 deserving credit areSheffield Utd .
The rest were par or seriously underachieving.

Come on, he's a rookie manager overseeing a massive transition season. There's talent there, but very little experience and a few players he used as key players like mount and abraham were in the championship last season.

He's done a marvellous job, must admit. Done it all playing great footy too.

He took over them near the bottom of the championship only a season and a half ago i think. That'd be such poor form if he gets sacked and I'd hope they'd go straight down if that's the case.

Not enough credit goes to Jody Morris.
He's been the academy coach through some of their best years of total domination.
It's no accident that the transition was smooth , because nothing changed.
He deserves credit but I think there's a bit too much "Frank was fighting against the odds" nonsense.
Chelsea are like Juventus, they're built to out last any coach or manager.
That's Abramowich success story , he can put anyone in place because every bit of their infrastructure from academy to transfer strategy to coaching is built to win.
Even with City outspending them Chelsea never go more than a season max without winning anything.
As sickening as it is, they're the model even if it's built on oligarch money.

Despising Chelsea I take no pleasure in any of this but it's hard to deny

Portuguese press were full of reports, but apparently the club have turned round and said its nonsense, and he’s very much staying.

I agree, Pearson’s was a lot more “mad”.

That said, Smith has done a great job at Villa as mentioned by a poster above, they were languishing beer the bottom of the Championship, managed to get them straight up, and despite working with a very average side (plus Grealish), he’s done well.

which is why I said it would have been a mad sacking.

TBF looking at their squad and rookie manager I thought they'd finish top 8. But tbf that's probably less a case of them over performing than me not really knowing what I'm talking about

Yes, well if one was to take RAWK as gospel, Chelsea will never be a threat while Lampard is manager as he is crap (after 2 seasons as a coach). They seem to like Eddie Howe and Bournemouth on there though. Hmmm....

You'll overtake them next season imo, can see them standing still in the next couple of years and then klopp will walk moaning about lack of funds

.... After he moaned that he'd never buy the title ala Blackburn.
