Is that like in a kids game were the ref tries to even things up?

It was said that the 12 points would only be applied this season if they stayed up,but if the 12 points deduction would have effected them,then it would have been give next season in League 1

That often seems to happen to be fair. Teams take their foot off once the win is sealed. When we beat Southampton 7-1 and we where 5-0 up after 25 minutes. Did feel like a bit of an anti-climax ‘only’ winning 7-1

Seems like the other team will often buckle down defensively when they know they can’t catch up, just to make the final scoreline a little less humilitating
