I do understand where you are coming from but isn't it all a bit pointless if people don't post and we all end up getting 3 easy points. I haven't had a bye all season and I'm not fussed. It's difficult to see all sides of the argument and please everyone - I understand that. So, I'm caught in a difficult position here - trying to please everyone..

So, here's the solution - everyone who is playing Screech gets 3 pts and a walkover. But they also get to play Billy and the result stands for him.

Thats just silly. Just replace Billy with Screech, its only for fun, im gonna win no matter what happens.

That's cause YOU came in halfway . I agreed with that . This is now the business end and it matters . What's the point in playing for months then lash the rules ???
I am not trying to be pedantic , and I will not win it , but you've gotta have rules , cock' , surely ???
Example , the people around - us , all get 111-18 to nil results . WE then get a win , granted , but maybe 11-9 . It makes a whopper diff' to the standings . THAT'S me point .
I was totally up with you joining , as I hope you recall , but you gotta have a system , mate .
See what everyone else reckons .

See what everyone else reckons .

I lost against Dan in his first game, instead of getting a walkover. Others before Dan joined got 3 points because they had no opponent. It happens, so no point worrying about it. The best thing was playing Dan.
If there were prizes to be won, then I think LCAB would be perfectly right in what he says.

As there are no prizes, then it doesn't bother me who joins in, as it's more fun trying to out tip an opponent, than looking at the draw and seeing noone is available to play you.

Anyway, here are my predictions, and good luck to all: (y)

For the record.

Keep doing what you are doing TD. At least you ARE ACTUALLY doing something for the fun of us all.

You also back down if you win to avoid arguments.

My Man.

I'm sorry if, in trying to be fair to everyone I've upset a few people.

I acknowledge that we had this discussion a few weeks ago and it's difficult, maybe impossible, to please all the people all of the time.

Sure, rules are rules but they are the same rules I asked the original 20 players to abide by at the start - and the one obviously I'm referring to is agreeing to stick with it for the whole year and we wouldn't have reached a situation such as this if some had stuck by the competition.

Without sticking with it it becomes a whole waste of everyone's time. I spend a lot of time trying to do this properly and all I would ask is people appreciate they should remember to post their scores to make it all worthwhile.

There have been some drop outs along the way - for whatever reasons - in all the forums (some much much worse than here) - in some cases I have reduced the playing numbers - the ideal solution would be to take a couple out of the GOT league and restructure the fixtures but everyone seemed quite happy to have a "bye" when Screech (and those before him) didn't post which is (to some) unsatisfactory.

The solution I offered this time round meant that those who had wanted their bye week still got it but there was at least an opponent to play against which makes it seem more worthwhile without affecting those who reckoned it was their turn on the bye week! and the opportunity to welcome a newcomer who might want to stick around (next season). I realise that you aren't blaming BC at all, and I don't take this personally either (unless you want me to). So, let's just draw a veil under it and for those who don't want to stick with it please let me know and I will, if necessary, reorganise the league numbers accordingly.

Thanks for your participation, support and friendship.

Cheers (y)
