I am an Aussie and I have a serious question about this. If this happened in England what would be the news coverage?

Obviously not as much as over there...I've heard he is a national hero!

But yeah, would get a back page on the Sun probably.

Yeah we love Timmy. This will be all over the news tomorrow even though its already been through the news all last week when it actually happened.

Random one for you..But is it true Ponting is hated Nationally now?
Well I personally think he is almost the best cricketer in the world (After my boy Mitch Johnson whose gonna **** you blokes up :D) but his captaincy at times is nothing short of deplorable. He's certainly not hated but I would much prefer to see Simon Katich in charge though thats never going to happen. Even worse is the fact the next guy likely to take charge in Michael Clarke is an absolute douche. The Aussie team is going through a transition stage at the moment and we have unearthed some SERIOUS talent in Phil Hughes and Mitch Johnson who we can build the team around. Right now our biggest problem though are our selectors particularly imo Merv Hughes as since hes had the job Australia's selection of all versions has been ******* shithouse.

Who do you think will win the Ashes?

Ah right. Yeah, he is a great cricketer to be fair.

Aussies, without a doubt.

You?

Yeah I think we will though I think you guys will win the first test in Cardiff because we don't have a quality spinner and you have two that aren't bad. Apparently it turns square from what we have heard back here. Mainly I think we are damn lucky this series because it would seem you guys have fallen at the same time we have. BTW look out for Ben Hilfenhaus this summer (for you guys anyway) he genuinely swings the ball and will love the Dukes you have over there. Should be a good series in any case as the Ashes series played in England generally are.

True. Will be good too see what spinners we actually pick. Luckily for you, The Might Harmison won't be participating

Yeah, they are usually. I can see KP shining in this test how ever.

b)

Is he actually going to play? I've heard theres a chance he could miss the series or something like that. Have you guys seen or heard much of Mitch Johnson. I'm pretty sure he was in the last touring Ashes party but didn't do too much. I might be wrong about that to.

Looks like we may get another 3-4 years out of Timmy, i think he will finish at an A Legue club:

Tim Cahill admits he has knackered himself out helping Everton and Australia - but is adamant he'll only relax when he retires. The midfielder missed the beginning of last season with a broken foot but made 40 appearances for his club, as well as trekking to the other side of the world to represent his country. But after helping Australia top their World Cup qualification group, Cahill says he wants to break the 60-game barrier next season.

"Four (or) five more years of this and then I can hang my boots up and I can chill," said the 29-year-old.

"But to play in another World Cup, if I had to play 60 games this coming season, I'll do it."
