Bask in the fume. Everyone is absolutely gutted we’ve survived and I’m loving it. Cry harder you mutants.

They seem to be stuck between docking us points for a pitch invasion, or having accou nts that have been cleared as not in breach of FFP but their opinion is they should have failed.

99.99% of these blokes have 0 experience of accountancy it's worth saying too. Unlike the accounting professionals who would have initially signed off the accounts at EFC ends and then the PL end.

But Daz the plumber obviously knows more.

I have no doubt we’ve been up to some dodgy stuff, but the thing is we’ve been totally transparent about it over the past year and obviously already found a way to circumnavigate the rule book. The punishment would’ve come a long time ago if it was ever going to come. Since then we’ve towed the line regarding spending so there’s no new evidence against us that they can throw up. The fact these cry arses have waited until we’re mathematically safe to bother attempting this is just comical beyond belief.

As much as we’ve committed an offence we’ve wrote off so much, that it won’t make it to court.

It’s desperate times, and they call for desperate measures. So it’s a shame Burnley and Leeds have stopped as low, but not our problem.

Between them they’ve won 5 titles and 2 FA cups…..so one less title than Sunderland on their own….just get back to the lower divisions where you belong……

Yes all true.

It's worth saying, 99% of companies do sort of dodgy stuff, to varying degrees. It's why we have accounting.

But yes, the club has pushed the envelope. Had the PL not agreed the accounts, we would be in a spot of bother. I still doubt it would be a points deduction, and were it to be, it would be next year.

Theyve been clever in working closely with the league, and getting them to agree it.

A concern for us, is it may be harder to get them to agree things moving forward as easily. But for the most part the PL tends to protect its members. There are lots of reasons for that, but its hard to argue against it. It gives a certain perception to the world.

It's why I've never really bought into the conspiracy against us. If they really wanted us down there would be easier ways than with refs and VAR.

They so called letter was sent in 10 days ago..the story breaks today. No mention of anything from Watford or Norwich .
Anyone would think the media are trying to stir more [Poor language removed] the weekend that's in it

What it shows, is the league has probably ignored it.

Leeds/Burnley probably leaked it now out of desperation.

We should spend the Iranian’s last billion for a laugh, write it off and grin smugly at these povs who don’t realise we’re Premier League royalty.

A stark contrast with Burnley's owners, who used the £50 million they had in the bank as collateral to take out a loan to buy the club, thereby investing no money, and ensuring there's a fair chance they'll go bankrupt if they're relegated. Certainly no chance of them breaking the rules by actually spending money on the team!

All your post is spot on, but just focussing on the latter paragraph.

The PL is the better of the two evils.

If we went down the EFL would have absolutely wiped the floors with us. If a few outerageous VAR choices is what is coming to us… I’ll take that over 30 point deductions like Derby got.

VAR will look at it. FA will deduct us 5 points (4 wouldn't do as we would stay up on goal difference above Leeds) and we go down.

Both Liverpool and City draw 0-0, City win the league by a point...hang on.....VAR pipes up and says Everton should have had a penalty against City - would have finished 1-1 - takes two points off City, LFC win league. by 1 point.

I wouldn't bet against that.

If Burnley go, they’re goners….

I’m writing that and feel horrible for Burnley the club. Historically the first English side in the European Cup, a club ran well, and sold to a load of charlatans who’ve seen it as a cash cow.

I think that’s why I want them safe, but Alan Pace is up there with the Hick&Gillets.

I’m always amazed by people wanting US owners, whe does it end well?

If anyone wants doing it's Man Utd. I am a Leeds fan their performance against you had to be so one paced it defied belief. I don't know your finances but we had our minus 15 season in 2007 when Bates pulled some manipulative accounts to keep ownership. Sheffield Wednesday and Derby always had something going on financially and we're found out. We made our bed In January by not bringing in players .Resigned to relegation but who knows what will happen. If Everton have done something wrong you will be found out . Simple as that.
