2025/26 Tim Iroegbunam

I think his ability on the ball is fine, but his situational awareness and decision making are often awful. For me one of the main reasons I still have real hope for him is that he shows flashes of having almost everything you want in a midfielder, he can carry the ball really well. sometimes shows surprising deftness on the ball and - particularly early on last season - he has found some really good and incisive forward passes. He's ridiculously inconsistent and I worry that some of the things he struggles with might never develop to the levels you need, but when he's good you think he can be very good.
There's a player there alright. Definitely raw

Yeah you could be right there to be fair

Like I said if he’s smart and knuckles down and learns he could be a great player! Maybe it’s just as simple as learning the role and improving on decision making

If we get any offers for him in the summer around the 20m mark then I'd take it and move him on. Just don't think we can afford him the time he needs to develop properly and we need a player who is more ready than him to be in the first team.
Shockingly short sighted opinion
Why do you think so? Do you honestly think he has a chance of making it here as a consistent first team player?

I just don't think he will and I don't think we can afford him the time he needs to get there if he's going to.
I think he has a lot of potential yes, he's a work in progress so patience is required

If we are a club that's serious about challenging for Europe then we can't afford to be too patient anymore and we can't afford to carry players. He will be 23 at the start of next season and his last season of consistent game time was in 22-23. Unfortunately when you're trying to compete for Europe you need to be a bit ruthless with players and if he is able to get a decent fee then I'd rather sell and spend that on a player that's ready because he's still very raw in areas which make us struggle when he plays sometimes.

I disagree. Our best way to compete is to have a long-term vision with younger players at the heart of it

I don't disagree that there should be a long term vision with young players at the heart of it, but those young players have to be good enough.
Of course, my argument is Tim has shown in patches he has potential and with good coaching and in the right footballing set up I feel he can gain more consistency and become a high performer for us. Therefore instead of just saying get rid I'd advocate patience (for example under Dyche there were fans not rating Garner that highly but with better coaching he's now an integral member of the team)

Garner was far more refined as a player than Tim ever has been.
