You could certainly make the argument Joey.
Donovan spent the majority of his career in the US aside from an unsuccessful spell in Germany and a decent but short go with us.
He didn't play at the top level for any length of consistent time.

In comparison Howard's been a very good keeper close to the top of the premier league for many years in a row as well as performing in the world cup.

I don't feel safe with Howard in the team but he was a great player in the past so the argument could be made on past glories.

Lets be honest Doug, your opinions in this thread could be classed as bizarre in the main.

However in an array of other topics you come across as a good poster.

Other than the typical and standard "American" finger pointing....why do you like Howard so much other than him playing for us for a number of years?

Was he the reason you began following everton?

How are my opinions "bizarre"? Just because I don't blame Howard for every goal we concede?
 

I did say "in the main". Just looking objectively through the thread you defend him more than anyone else....i was just wondering if you had any particular affinity to him at all? Was he your favourite player for us or have you some link to him?

Not trying to "bait" you, just wondered as you do focus more on him than other players it seems?

On a separate note, i quite liked Howard on a "personal" level. Seemed like a good guy, but after the world cup he seems to have changed with his comments about Friedel in his book being distasteful and dishonest and just his general demeanour...doesnt help him now being on the way down....

I like that we have had players who are nice guys compared to some of the toads in the prem. Now i think he's not really one of the good guys, maybe arrogance after the world cup...who knows.
