Tim Howard

He's an international footballer with over 100 caps to his name he's clearly at the top of his profession and you're making yourself look extremely daft comparing him to an ameture footballer to try and gain kudos amongst the Howard haters.

The biggest problem for the goal was Ings getting a free header, Barkley is man marking Ings and has a 6" advantage over him yet Ings scores easily. Somehow you've got it into your mind it's Howard's fault but you're wrong, the problem starts with Barkley and if a more experienced player with stronger defensive instincts marks Ings that wouldn't happen and we wouldn't have conceded. It's that simply even yourself must understand it now?
NO Doug!

No I don't understand as you once again fail to see that Howard can and should deal with it first, not Barkley! If Howard does this we don't concede either! Howard makes the first error. I have already said Barkley takes some blame as he shouldn't be beaten! You got that now right? Said it many times now!

He clearly is better than that standard but I am trying to point out to you if you went and watched some of that league I bet the keepers in that situation would be coming out and taking absolutely everything, the ball and any men around then. It's bog standard stuff which Howard should know to do!

Please don't make it into a Howard haters thread........he should have claimed, simple as that. We are looking into the reason why we conceded and Ross takes some flak but the keeper should take a lot more under those circumstances. Howard needs to be braver in those situations. The ball was certainly attainable to Tim Howard.

Take the glasses off please Doug, your defence of any Everton player is admirable.
But just like monday night Tim Howard was at fault again .This really is not a debate.

But tell.me mate.

If a defensive player has a free header, completely unchallenged, why does his keeper need to come for that? I don't understand why you can't see that and more importantly, understand it.

That's why Howard never came for it. He didn't need to. Barkley with the error, it's plain as day.
He never came for it because he seldom does - end off - do not blame anyone but him ok!

You've never been more spot on.

Come on Louie I'm saying its Barkleys mistake, not absolving all players of blame. I've said earlier that I thought Howard was poor in the first half, just not responsible for the goal.

The assessment of him does not change game by game, he was good against Spurs but poor at WBA and here. The truth is over the course of a season he will cost us the points that will keep us out of the top 4. He is one of the poorest keepers in the prem yet we want to be top 4, it's just not going to happen.
