Tim Howard

Step up to the plate then instead of sitting on the side line maybe if you have all this game???

I never said I want Howard out anyway just that he made a massive mistake yesterday for the goal.

My game is saved for those worthy.

Read back on the thread over the last 6 months, I've provided stats, I've provided debate, I've proved people wrong.

All that's been said has been said repeatedly: he's not very good, but we're probably gonna struggle to get a better keeper.

I doubt it Moz otherwise you wouldn't have spent the last 24hrs flip flopping between blaming Howard but admitting the defenders were to blame otherwise..

Ok mate!

Fair enough mate. To be honest I am just sick of repeating myself now in this thread. That's me done haha! He defo is on the decline and needs replacing next summer. Like you said though, be hard to find someone good.

I'm only joshing with you as like you said the argument two and fro has been done to death. Next time you want another stalemate head into the Leon Osman thread lol

Come on Moz, Howard a weak spot but we've not been cash rich to replace him. When he does bad it it's fine to blame him but others are culpable as well.

Let's just put a stop to the witch hunt.

I know we ain't mate, hence why I never said he needed replacing this summer. However he is getting old and starting to make mistakes. Going to need replacing soon.

considering it happens back to back games I figure it's prearranged with the defense that he's not going out for corners

Howard should be all over anything in his 6 yard box. Barkley hasn't got his jump right, maybe due to the hand in the back he got.
However, a good keeper will just call him out of the way and claim that really easily.
Same as with West Brom, it was there to be collected.

It's not like the old days, where Dixie could bully keepers, if you come and get something on it but are cleaned out, chances are the keeper will pick up a foul because of the desire of referees to protect keepers.

Howards not a terrible keeper but a decent one comes and catches that.

Surely nobody would be daft enough to arrange such a thing, it simply makes no sense to have the one man with all the advantage to not come come and claim crosses

not saying it's smart, just seems like whats going on.

why does it seem like its arranged like that, but not seem like Timmy's not doing his job properly?

My reason for thinking he, on top of Barkleys error, has done wrong is that in my time watching football the great keepers generally don't mess about with a ball in the air in the 6 yard box. They do what they have to, to claim it. In acting like that, they command the area and give their defense confidence. I think our No1 lets us down in this respect.

So what reason do you have to think a coaching team would plan to not have a keeper come for corners?

not saying arranged by coaches but between howard and the defense, just by their reactions it doesn't seem like anyone was out of position and as everyone has been pointing out it happens consistently when we defend corners. For the RS goal, he should've come out for it and Barkley should've marked Ings better. Never said howard was blameless
